WILDERNESS & REMOTE
FIRST AID INSTRUCTOR
The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Wilderness & Remote First Aid instructor course is to train instructor candidates to teach the Wilderness & Remote First Aid course.
Be at least 17 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course.
Posses a current basic-level certification in Wilderness & Remote First Aid.
Successfully complete the online introduction to the Wilderness & Remote First Aid Instructors Course prior to the precourse skill session.
Obtain all instructor and participant materials before entering the first session of the instructor course.
Has Successfully completed the precourse skills session.
Approximately 8 hours, 35 minutes.
To successfully complete the Wilderness & Remote First Aid Instructor course, candidate must:
Successfully complete the online prerequisite Introduction to the Wilderness & Remote First Aid Instructor course.
Successfully complete the Wilderness & Remote First Aid skills session.
Attend and actively participate in all course sessions.
Successfully complete class activities, including the required practice-teaching assignments.
Demonstrate instructor-level skill competency in all skills and scenarios.
Successfully pass final written exams with a minimum grade of 80%.
CERTIFICATE ISSUED AND VALIDITY PERIOD
Wilderness & Remote First Aid Instructor is valid for 2 years.
