The primary purpose of the American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor course is to train instructor candidates to teach the American Red Cross basic-level First Aid, CPR, and AED courses.
PREREQUISITES
PARTICIPANTS MUST MEET ALL PREREQUISITES TO TAKE THE COURSE.
​Candidates Must:

Be at least 16 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course.

Possess a current current American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED certification or the equivalent or higher level.

Successfully complete the online introduction to the First Aid/CPR/AED Instructors Course prior to the precourse skill session.

Obtain all instructor and participant materials before entering the first session of the instructor course.

Has Successfully completed the precourse skills session.
LENGTH
Online session: approximately 2 hours.
In-person session: approximately 13 hours.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To successfully complete the First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor course, candidate must: Successfully complete the online prerequisite Introduction to the First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor course.

Successfully complete the First Aid/CPR/AED skills session.

Attend and actively participate in all course sessions.

Successfully complete class activities, including the required practice-teaching assignments.

Demonstrate instructor-level skill competency in all skills and scenarios.

Successfully pass final written exams with a minimum grade of 80%.
CERTIFICATE ISSUED/ VALIDITY PERIOD
First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor is valid for 2 years.
