The purpose of a review course is to give participants the opportunity to review the course content within a formal class setting.  A review course allows eligible individuals to recertify and receive a certificate for EMR without participating in a full course.

Participant must possess a current American Red Cross Emergency Medical Response certification or an EMR certification that has expired by no more 30 days.

30 hours, 15 minutes.

To successfully complete the Emergency Medical Response course, candidate must:

  • Attend all course activities.

  • Demonstrate competency in all required skills and scenarios.

  • Demonstrate competency in the final skills scenarios.

  • Successfully pass final written exams with a minimum grade of 80%. If a participant fails to reach the minimum 80% on the final written exam, a retest is allowed using the other version of the exam, provided that the participant has passed the practical assessment.

Emergency Medical Response is valid for 2 years.
