
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Instructor

The primary purpose of the American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuers Instructor course is to train instructors to teach the basic-level American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuers course.
PREREQUISITES
PARTICIPANTS MUST MEET ALL PREREQUISITES TO TAKE THE COURSE.
Complete all Blended Learning before day one.
Candidates must:

Be at least 16 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course.

Posses a current basic-level certification in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuers.

Successfully complete the online introduction to the CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuers Instructors Course prior to the precourse skill session.

Obtain all instructor and participant materials before entering the first session of the instructor course.

Successfully complete the precourse skills session.
LENGTH
Online Session: Approximately 2 hours
In-Person Session: 15 hours, 10 minutes
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To successfully complete the CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Instructor course, candidate must:

Successfully complete the online prerequisite Introduction to the CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Instructor course.

Successfully complete the CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer skills session.

Attend and actively participate in all course sessions.

Successfully complete class activities, including the required practice-teaching assignments.

Demonstrate instructor-level skill competency in all skills and scenarios.

Successfully pass final written exams with a minimum grade of 80%.
CERTIFICATE ISSUED/ VALIDITY PERIOD
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Instructor is valid for 2 years. The CPRO Instructor certificate is only valid when accompanied by a current basic-level American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certificate.
