
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

The primary purpose of the American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuers course is to train professional-level rescuers to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over.

PARTICIPANTS MUST MEET ALL PREREQUISITES TO TAKE THE COURSE.
LENGTH
Instructor Led: 6 hours
Blended Learning: 3 hours online; 3 hours in-person
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To successfully complete the CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuers course, candidate must:

Attend and actively participate in all course sessions.

Demonstrate competency in all required skills.

Successfully pass the final written exam with a minimum grade of 80%.
CERTIFICATE ISSUED/ VALIDITY PERIOD
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuers is valid for 2 years.
However, for NYS only, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer is only valid for 1 year.
