The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid course is to provide individuals a foundation of first aid principles and skills to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical services (EMS) response, such as wilderness and remote environments, including urban disasters, such as earthquakes and hurricanes
PREREQUISITES
Current American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED, or equivalent.
Participants must be at least 14 years of age on or before the last day of class.
PARTICIPANTS MUST MEET ALL PREREQUISITES TO TAKE THE COURSE.

Instructor Led: 16 hours
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To successfully complete the Wilderness and Remote First Aid course, candidate must:

Attend and actively participate in all course sessions.

Demonstrate competency in all required skills.

Successfully pass the final written exam with a minimum grade of 80%.
CERTIFICATE ISSUED/ VALIDITY PERIOD
Wilderness and Remote First Aid is valid for 2 years.
