The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid Instructor course is to train candidates to teach the basic-level American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid course.
PREREQUISITES
PARTICIPANTS MUST MEET ALL PREREQUISITES TO TAKE THE COURSE.
Candidates must:

Be at least 17 years old on or before the last day of the Instructor Course.

Possess valid basic-level American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid certification, or equivalent.

Successfully complete the online Introduction to the Wilderness & Remote First Aid Instructor Course prior to the precourse skills session.

Obtain all instructor and participant materials before entering the first session of the instructor course.

In-Person Learning: Approx. 8 hours, 35 minutes
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To successfully complete the Wilderness and Remote First Aid Instructor course, candidate must:

Successfully complete the online prerequisite Introduction to the Wilderness and Remote First Aid Instructor course.

Attend and actively participate in all course sessions.

Successfully complete class activities, including the required practice-teaching assignments.

Demonstrate instructor-level skill competency in all skills and scenarios.

Successfully pass final written exams with a minimum grade of 80%.
CERTIFICATE ISSUED/ VALIDITY PERIOD
Wilderness and Remote First Aid Instructor is valid for 2 years.
