Advanced Life Support Instructor
The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Advanced Life Support (ALS) Instructor course is to train candidates to teach the basic-level American Red Cross Advanced Life Support course.
PARTICIPANTS MUST MEET ALL PREREQUISITES TO TAKE THE COURSE.
Be at least 17 years old on or before the last day of the Instructor Course.
Possess a current basic-level Advanced Life Support or equivalent.
Successfully complete the online Introduction to the Advanced Life Support Instructor Course prior to the precourse skills session.
Obtain all instructor and participant materials before entering the first session of the instructor course.
Blended Learning: Approx. 3.5 hours online; approx. 6.5 hours in-person
To successfully complete the Advanced Life Support Instructor course, candidate must:
Successfully complete the online prerequisite Introduction to the Advanced Life Support Instructor course.
Successfully complete the ALS skills session.
Attend and actively participate in all course sessions.
Successfully complete class activities, including the required practice-teaching assignments.
Demonstrate instructor-level skill competency in all skills and scenarios.
Successfully pass final written exams with a minimum grade of 80%.
CERTIFICATE ISSUED/ VALIDITY PERIOD
Advanced Life Support Instructor is valid for 2 years.
