The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Emergency Medical Response (EMR) course is designed to provide the participant with the knowledge and skills necessary to work as an emergency medical responder (EMR) to help sustain life, reduce pain and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until more advanced medical personnel take over.

PARTICIPANTS MUST MEET ALL PREREQUISITES TO TAKE THE COURSE.

Blended Learning: There is no blended learning option for this course.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To successfully complete the Emergency Medical Response (EMR) course, candidate must:

Attend and actively participate in all course sessions.

Demonstrate competency in all required skills and scenarios..

Successfully complete the Putting It All Together sessions.

Pass the final practical examination.

Successfully pass two written final exams with a minimum grade of 80%.
CERTIFICATE ISSUED/ VALIDITY PERIOD
Emergency Medical Response and Basic Life Support is valid for 2 years.
