The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor course is to train candidates to teach the basic-level American Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support course.
PREREQUISITES
PARTICIPANTS MUST MEET ALL PREREQUISITES TO TAKE THE COURSE.
Candidates must:

Be at least 17 years old on or before the last day of the Instructor Course.

Possess a current basic-level Pediatric Advanced Life Support or equivalent.

Successfully complete the online Introduction to the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor Course prior to the precourse skills session.

Obtain all instructor and participant materials before entering the first session of the instructor course.

Blended Learning: Approx. 2 hours online; 6.5 hours in-person
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To successfully complete the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor course, candidate must:

Successfully complete the online prerequisite Introduction to the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor course.

Attend and actively participate in all course sessions.

Successfully complete class activities, including the required practice-teaching assignments.

Demonstrate instructor-level skill competency in all skills and scenarios.

Demonstrate competency in leading a team response during the team response testing scenarios.
-
Successfully pass final written exams with a minimum grade of 84%.
CERTIFICATE ISSUED/ VALIDITY PERIOD
Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor is valid for 2 years.
