The primary purpose of the American Heart Association Life Support (BLS) course is to train Healthcare Providers the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide single-rescuer and team basic life support CPR skills, use and AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely, and effective manner. This course is designed for healthcare professionals both in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To successfully complete the Basic Life Support (BLS) course, candidate must:

Attend and actively participate in all course sessions.

Demonstrate competency in all required skills.

Successfully pass the final written exam with a minimum grade of 84%.
CERTIFICATE ISSUED/ VALIDITY PERIOD
Basic Life Support is valid for 2 years.
